Welcome to Burns Lake Search and Rescue. We are the longest continuously active Search and Rescue group in the province.  We have been an established search group since 1967.

Purposes

We are a organization of volunteers that provides Ground and Inland Water Search and Rescue operations in the area covered by the Burns Lake RCMP division when required by the RCMP and Emergency Management BC.  The area covered is within the Bulkley –Nechako Regional District and includes the Villages of Burns Lake and Fraser Lake.

We provide mutual aid to other Search and Rescue groups upon request.

We provide education to the public re outdoor safety awareness.

Geographical area

Burns Lake Search and Rescue operates in the area from Babine Lake to Ootsa Lake, east of Houston to Fraser Lake.  We share the responsibilities of Fraser Lake with the Nechacko Valley Group
